Voices, Choices and Homework!

This past weekend I had the privilege of connecting with a variety of different women bloggers at the Blog Sugar 11 in Westminster, California. It was a great event, filled with sugar, laughter and bright, amazing women willing to share their blogging victories as well as their defeats.

In addition to hearing the keynote speaker, Meg Duerksen share her heartfelt journey, I attended three informational panels featuring Maggie Whitley, Sarah Markley and Lindsey Cheney. In the time following this conference, I have been digesting and processing so much information! Although the panel speakers and topics were diverse, for me, two main ideas were woven throughout all of the information, voices and choices.

With the staggering number of 152 million blogs on the internet, it is overwhelming to me that I am one of them! My little Sandwich voice is being shared all over the place and I was reminded to keep my spot in the blogosphere authentic and genuine to the reason I began writing. My self-designed homework in the “voice” department is to identify my message and encourage conversation with other moms in my similar situation.

The other highlight for me was that making wise choices about my words, my time and my connections through this blog are critical. We all have the common bond of busyness in our lives but the speakers encouraged me to refresh my priorities, define my passion and to stay true to what is precious in my life. I have a lot of homework in this department and I am excited to use the practical suggestions given to me by each speaker!

I want to thank Rachel, Andrea and Jen so much for their hard work on this conference! It was an awesome experience!

By the way, if you gave me your card, please contact me because somehow, I ended up with a different bag and I do not have your information! :(
